Eligibilities
- International degree-seeking students (including students of dual degree programs) and Overseas Chinese students officially enrolled in NCHU.
- Students can join individually or in groups (except for project 2- personal experience article).

Rules for Receiving Awards
1. All prizes will be reviewed and issued by the Office of International Affairs after the submission deadline.
2. For group entries, the prize will be transferred to the team leader only.
3. To claim the prize, students must provide a valid ARC and work permit
4. A 20% tax will be deducted if the student has stayed in Taiwan for less than 183 days (based on the award date).

Guildelines
- Each student may participate in multiple projects.
- This program aims to share NCHU experiences from the student perspective; all projects must be student-led.
- Resources available from the Office of International Affairs include:
🔹Brochures and promotional materials
🔹School introduction slides and videos (upon request)
🔹NCHU logo/media assets
🔹Audio recording equipment (loan) - The Office of International Affairs cannot provide:
🔹Assistance in arranging or inviting the President, Vice Presidents, or other officials for student-led events
🔹Venue or meeting room reservations
🔹Video conferencing equipment setup
Back Home/Online Promotion
- The theme must focus on introducing or promoting NCHU.
- Format is flexible (e.g., talk, seminar, etc.), and there is no time limit.
- Promotional activities can be dated back to as early as November 2024.
- Each event must have at least 5 participants.
- For In-Person (Overseas) Promotion:
🔹Preferably held at your home school or a school where you teach.
🔹Must include photo/video documentation of the event. - For Online Promotion:
🔹May be conducted via Google Meet or similar platforms.
🔹Must be recorded in full.
If you need to use Google Meet, you may apply for a Google Workspace account through the university’s Computer and Information Network Center: apply here - After the event, submit:

Evaluation Method: The Office of International Affairs may evaluate the promotional activities conducted by students based on the following criteria:
(1) Method of Implementation (on-campus promotion/online seminars, etc.)
(2) Promotional Media (creation of posters or promotional images/social media promotion, etc.)
(3) Number of Target Audience (at least 5 people required)
(4) Event Documentation (video recording and editing, photography, etc.)
(5) Follow-up after the Event (sending NCHU application information to participants after the event)
(6) Official Documentation from Foreign Schools (such as certificates of appreciation, proof of service, etc.) is preferred. -
Prize Description:
Up to 7 recipients will be selected for the Excellence Award (NT$4,000 each), and up to 25 individuals/teams for the Honorable Mention (NT$2,000 each), based on merit.

Personal Experience Article About Studying at NCHU
- Prepare the slides using the specified PPT format.
Layout and design of text and images can be customized freely.
Each topic requires one slide in English and one in your native language — totaling 10 slides (5 in English, 5 in your native language). - Must choose 5 themes out of the following 10 themes:
(1) NCHU admission process (FAQ/reminder, etc.)
(2) Reasons for choosing to study at NCHU or reasons for recommending others to study at NCHU
(3) Scholarships (the sharing from the scholarship recipients is preferred; the scholarships can be Taiwan Scholarships, TA or other NCHU scholarships)
(4) Introduction of your department (e.g. full English programs)
(5) The experiences you have gained during your study at NCHU (e.g. professional knowledge, etc.)
(6) Chinese Language Learning Courses
(7) Extracurricular activities during the school period (e.g. campus activities, etc.)
(8) Internship or part-time jobs (important regulations and reminders, anti-fraud info, instructions of applying ARC or work permit, etc.)
(9) Life in Taichung/NCHU (transportation/the cost of living/weather, etc.)
(10) Faith-friendly (facilities/food/prayer, etc.) - Please name each work file according to "Student ID - Name - Theme - Nationality" and submit both PPT and PDF files. Each student can submit only one final work.

Evaluation and Prize Description:
OIA will evaluate submissions based on content relevance, design and layout, and richness of content. Inclusion of interactions with local students and faculty is encouraged.
Based on the evaluations, the following awards will be given:
🔹Gold Award: NT$800 (1 recipient)
🔹Silver Award: NT$700 (1 recipient)
🔹Bronze Award: NT$600 (1 recipient)
🔹Honorable Mention: NT$500 (5 recipients)

Short Film
- The film must include at least one of the themes:

(7) Extracurricular activities during the school period (e.g. campus activities, etc.)

(9) Life in Taichung/NCHU (transportation/the cost of living/weather, etc.)
(10) Faith-friendly (facilities/food/prayer, etc.) - The minimum duration of the film is 3 mins and the maximum duration of the film is 5 minutes (including the opening and ending), and the subtitles should be presented in bilingual (student's native language/English).
- The logo of the Office of International Affairs(download) and NCHU logo(download)should appear at the beginning and end of the film. The formats of video and audio should be MPEG4, AVI, or WMV. The file name should be named according to "Student ID - Name - Theme - Nationality".
- Only music from the YouTube Audio Library is allowed. If your submission uses music from other sources and results in copyright issues, you will be required to replace the audio with copyright-free music. Otherwise, you will bear full responsibility for any related consequences.

(1) Sign in to YouTube Studio.
(2) From the left menu, select Audio library.
(3) You can also access the Audio Library directly at youtube.com/audiolibrary. -
Creating a video by simply stitching multiple photos together is not allowed; dynamic presentation is required. Including bilingual signage and campus facilities in the video is encouraged.

A brief script (one A4 page) must be submitted with the application, and the final video must align with the submitted script.

Each student may submit only one video.

Evaluation and Prize Description:
OIA will evaluate videos based on filming techniques, including theme relevance, script content, music, audio quality, and editing. Inclusion of interactions with local students and faculty is encouraged.
Awards will be given as follows:

🔹Silver Award: NT$7,000 (1 recipient)
🔹Bronze Award: NT$6,000 (1 recipient)
🔹Honorable Mention: NT$5,000 (up to 10 recipients)

Distributing Promotional Materials

When applying, please specify the quantity of materials requested (max. 20 per item), target audience, and distribution location.

Distribution is subject to stock availability and will be prioritized based on the order of completed registrations.

Materials will be available for pickup starting June 10. If early pickup is needed, please notify the coordinator via email after registration.

After distribution, photo and recipient information must be submitted.

Evaluation and Reward:
Upon confirmation of successful distribution, each ambassador will receive 50 LINE Points (up to 40 participants).

Reminders
- The works should be original and copyrighted (works that have not participated in other competitions and won prizes). It is prohibited to reproduce, copy, synthesize, plagiarize, copy others, or violate public orders and good customs. Additionally, it is obligated to ensure that the work does not infringe the trademark, patent, copyright, and other relevant laws and regulations of the third party. In the event of disputes over rules or copyright, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify an entered work and recover an awarded prize. If notified that the entered work's copyright is in dispute or is in violation of intellectual property rights, the work may be disqualified by the organizer; the entrant is liable for all legal repercussions and compensation arising from related disputes.
- The property rights of the submitted works and the digital files of the original works (in accordance with the provisions of Section 4 of Chapter III of the Copyright Act) should be transferred to the organizer as of the date of announcement of the prize, and the winner should promise not to exercise his or her moral rights against the organizer. The organizer has the right to use the work for public purposes (such as publicity, decoration, exhibition, publication of newspapers and magazines, webpage production, publication, sale of publications or printing of books, etc.) without extra remuneration.

FAQ
A: Absolutely! You're more than welcome to join multiple categories. Except for the Personal Experience article (which must be individual), you can choose to participate either solo or as a team for the other projects!
(6) Prizes will be transferred to your bank account. For group submissions, the prize will be transferred to the account of one designated representative.
