Other Organization - Taichung YMCA
About (NCHU Volunteer Partner NGO)
Taichung YMCA was founded in 1962 and has a long history and extensive volunteer experience both domestically and internationally.
Its parent organization is the largest non-profit organization in the world, Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), which was established in 1844. It is estimated to have 60 million members and 2,600 branches worldwide, with over 7,000 service locations.
The YMCA provides young people with opportunities and an environment to experience life and discover their own potential. It inspires self-growth and transformation, as well as making an impact on oneself, the community, and the world.
- It is not just about short-term service. YMCA establishes or strengthens local service systems to ensure the continuity of the service.
- It encourages local young people to join hands and work together, going beyond cultural boundaries. Students will have the chance to meet and connect with local peers of similar age, who can become lifelong friends.
- It is not just a trip, but also an unforgettable life experience. Our students will immerse themselves in the local community, even staying with villagers. They will engage in profound conversations with the land, leaving a lasting impression.
- It is not just about seeing a different world but also getting to know oneself in a different way. The service process may be challenging, and the living environment may be simple and natural. Through this journey, you will reassess the difference between civilization and lack thereof, not in material terms but in terms of spirit. You will discover that your potential exceeds your imagination.
