Scholarships - NCHU Scholarships

Award
Note: NCHU Scholarship is divided into two parts: tuition waiver and monthly stipend
1. Tuition waiver:
***Insurance, accommodation and computer usage fee are not included in the tuition waiver.
2. Monthly stipend:
NT$6000, NT$8000 or NT$10000.
**Monthly stipend is limited to a few applicants, not for everyone.
-Please refer to Regulations for further information. (New regulation will be applied to all students since 2024 academic year)

☆Qualifications:
All international degree-seeking applicants can apply through the admission application system.
☆Duration of scholarships:
Fall semester: September - next year July
Spring semester: February - July

☆Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students: average academic score must be higher than or equal to 70.
- Graduate students: average academic score must be higher than or equal to 80.

1. Scholarship application form.
2. Official transcript of academic record.
- Current students can print it out from the machine at the first floor of the administration building.
- Spring semester new students can submit the academic record from their previous school.
3. Letter of agreement/recommendation to apply for NCHU Scholarship filled out and signed by the applicant’s advisor, instructor, or department director.

The Review Process:
Applications will first be sent to the applicants' departments for review. Then the priority list of students will be sent to the respective colleges. The colleges will then submit the results of their approval process to the National Chung Hsing University Scholarship Review Committee after evaluation. Scholarship recipients will be announced after the President's approval.
The Result Announcement:
Current students and new students for Fall semester: May 30th
Spring semester: Dec. 16th
The announcement will be sent to students' email.
►OIA Intl’ Students TA Scholarship
Sponsor: National Chung Hsing University
◆Details
1. Eligibility: Master/Ph.D. foreign students
2. Duration of scholarships: Fall semester: Sep - Jan / Spring semester: Feb - Jun.
3. Obligation: Those who serve as TA with outstanding performance will receive a monthly stipend of NT$ 5,000, totaling NT$20,000 per semester.
At the end of the semester, a certificate of service will be awarded.

NCHU Notice on the Excellence in Chinese Language Scholarship for International Students
Purpose
The Notice on the Excellence in Chinese Language Scholarship for International Students (hereinafter referred to as “the Notice”) is adopted by the National Chung Hsing University (hereinafter referred to as “NCHU”) to encourage international students who have attended courses at the NCHU Chinese Language Center to enroll in degree programs at NCHU after the completion of their Chinese studies.
Eligibility
1. First-year international degree student who are currently enrolled in NCHU.
2. The scholarship recipients must complete the Chinese courses (Intensive Courses) at NCHU Chinese Language Center within the last 2 years and obtained either:
(1) a Level 4 or above Chinese course completion certificate, or
(2) a Chinese language proficiency certificate (A2 or above).
Application time and required documents
Applicants shall prepare all the documents and submit the application to the Office of International Administrative Support (OIAS) within the designated period of time.
1. Application time: September 9th to October 15th each year.
2. Required documents:
(1) Application form
(2) Chinese course completion certificate from the NCHU Chinese Language Center or a Chinese language proficiency test certificate issued within the last 2 years
(3) One Letter of recommendation from a teacher at the NCHU Chinese Language Center.

Amount of Scholarship and Quota
1. Amount of Scholarship: NT$20,000.
2. Quota of scholarship is 10 students per fiscal year in principle.
3. For new students enrolling in the spring term, their applications will be processed and reviewed for the following academic year.
Review Standards and Procedures
The evaluation is based on supporting documents provided by the applicants, such as Chinese language course completion certificates and Chinese language proficiency test certificates. The Office of International Affairs will convene an administrative meeting for review. The review records will be signed by the president for approval.
Matters not mentioned herein shall be handled in accordance with relevant regulations of NCHU.
