3. A photocopy of diploma from the highest educational institution completed (in Chinese or English) *
Admission to a Bachelor/ Master's/Ph.D. program generally requires a high school/ bachelor's/ master's degree.
The diploma shall be certified by Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan representative office in/near your country. If your Diploma is obtained from schools in Taiwan, it is not necessary to be certified by Taiwan Embassy. Please click the link for more information on the authentication.
4. Official transcript of academic records (in Chinese or English) with grade point average (preferable on GPA 0-4 scale) from the highest institution attended *
Admission to a Bachelor/ Master's/Ph.D. program generally requires a high school/ bachelor's/ master's academic record.
The records shall be certified by the Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan representative office in/near your country. If your academic records are obtained from schools in Taiwan, it is not necessary to be certified by the Taiwan Embassy. Please click the link for more information on the authentication.
5. Proof of financial sufficiency such as a bank statement indicating sufficient funds for staying in Taiwan issued by your financial institution(s) *
Must provide Proof of Financial Support of at least NT$ 120,000 (USD$ 4,000), or Proof of Full Scholarships or Statement of Sponsorship provided by the government, or organizations.
For example: Bank statements must be issued within 90 days before the submission date. For related information, please refer to FAQ.
6. (I) A one-page study plan written in Chinese or English.*
[For 1st proposed department] Chinese and English are both accepted unless there is a specific requirement from the department/institution.

9. Language proficiency*
Programs Conducted in Chinese
Suppose you are applying for a program that is conducted in Chinese. In that case, you must submit a Chinese proficiency certificate at CEFR A2 (Waystage) or above (Chinese Proficiency Test Comparison Chart).
For example:
Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL): Band A Level 2
Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK): Level 4.
Programs Conducted in English
Suppose you are applying for a program conducted in English (including English-taught programs and programs with sufficient English courses to satisfy graduation requirements). In that case, you must submit an English proficiency certificate at CEFR B1 (Threshold) or above (English Proficiency Test Comparison Chart).
For example:
TOEFL: ITP 500/iBT: 61
IELTS: 5.0
TOEIC: 670 or relevant English Proficiency Proof

If the department has set its Language proficiency, please follow the department's requirement (check the department's requirement). If the department has no requirements, please follow the Language Proficiency - Prerequisite.
10. Master thesis for those who apply for the Ph.D. program.
If a master thesis is not required for your degree, please provide proof from your university.
If your master thesis is written in foreign languages other than English, please submit the abstract in English or Chinese.
11. Additional necessary required documents & Special Regulation
Apart from minimum language requirements, some colleges/departments/programs may have specific criteria for language ability or ask for additional application forms or other documents. Please check [Available Degree Programs] for more information.
