General Question

Q1: How do I collect the printed certificate exported from MY NCHU Passport?

Q2: Who should I contact to receive my certificate of completion?
A2: The certificate is issued by the Chinese Language Center (CLC). Please contact Ms. Chi at the CLC (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to request the electronic copy.
Q3: Do I need to send the payment receipt to the OIA Huayu account (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) after paying the deposit?
A3: No, it is not necessary.
Q4: What should I do if I have already paid the deposit but still receive a payment reminder?
A4: If you have already paid, please reply to the email stating "Deposit Paid" and attach your payment receipt for verification.
Q5: Will the OIA send a confirmation email after I pay the deposit?
A5: Yes. Due to administrative processes, it takes about 3 working days to verify the payment. Once confirmed, the OIA will send you a confirmation email.
Q6: What are the criteria for a deposit refund?
A6: The OIA will refund your deposit strictly based on whether you have obtained the "Certificate of Completion" for that specific course in the current semester.
Q7: How will my deposit be refunded if I register for more than one course?
A7: You must obtain the certificates of completion for all the courses you registered for. The OIA will process the refund based on the issuance of these certificates.
Q8: Can I register for courses with overlapping schedules?
A8: No. If the OIA or CLC finds that your course schedules overlap, your deposit will not be refunded.
Q9: I have selected to take the "pre-test." Who will send me the login credentials, and who should I contact?

Q10: Can I drop a course after I have completed the course selection and paid the deposit?
A10: You can drop the course as long as the Enrollment Result has not yet been announced. The deposit will be refunded at the end of the semester after all courses have concluded.
Q11: The enrollment result has been announced, but the class hasn't started yet. Can I still drop the course?
A11: Generally, you cannot drop the course at this stage. If you insist on dropping it, your deposit will not be refunded.
Q12: The enrollment result has been announced, but the class hasn't started yet. Can I change my class?
A12: Generally, changing classes is not allowed. If you absolutely must change, please email the OIA Huayu (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with your reasons, and we will evaluate your request.
Q13: Can I drop the course after classes have started? Will I get my deposit back?
A13: No, you cannot drop the course. If you do not attend, your deposit will not be refunded.
Q14: Can I change classes during the first one or two classes?
A14: You must be evaluated by the teacher and obtain their permission before changing classes. You cannot decide to change classes on your own.
Q15: Who should I contact if I want to drop or change classes during the first one or two classes?
A15: Please get evaluated by the teacher first. After obtaining the teacher's approval, contact Ms. Chi at the CLC (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
Q16: During the first one or two classes, my teacher evaluated my proficiency and recommended I move to a class that better suits my level. Can I change classes?
A16: Yes. Please contact your teacher and Ms. Chi at the CLC (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for assistance with the transfer. If you complete the new course and obtain the certificate, your deposit will still be refunded.

Please note: The first two missed classes in the new class will not be made up, but they will not be counted as absences.
Q17: During the first one or two classes, my teacher recommended I change classes, but there is no suitable class for my level this semester. What should I do? Can I still get my deposit back?
A17: You must stay in your original class for the entire term, obtain the certificate of completion, and participate in after-school tutoring arranged by the teacher or CLC to receive your deposit refund. Unexcused absences will result in no refund.
Q18: I have attended up to the third class and do not want to continue. Can I drop the course and get my deposit back?
A18: No, you cannot.
Q19: I have attended up to the third class and want to switch to a new class. Can I change classes and get my deposit back?
A19: No, you cannot change classes, and your deposit will not be refunded.
Q20: If I find the course too easy or too difficult and chat with classmates during class, but the teacher asks me to drop the course for disrupting the class, can I get my deposit back?
A20: No.
Q21: I only found out about these Chinese courses after seeing the announcement. Can I still register?
A21: Once the enrollment list of admitted students for the semester is announced, no new registrations will be accepted.
Q22: How do I remit via ATM or Mobile App
A22: Please follow the image below: first select "Transfer" → enter Bank Code 007 → enter your Virtual Account Number → enter the amount → confirm the details are correct and click "OK".
Q23: I am eligible for a deposit refund. When will I receive my deposit back?
A23: Deposit refunds will be processed together after all Chinese courses for the current semester have concluded. The refund process takes approximately 14 working days. For example, if the last Chinese class of the semester ends on July 1st, all eligible students will receive their deposit refunds by the end of July.

 

Summer Semester

Q1: What are the admission criteria for the Summer semester students?
A1: Admission priority is based on the chronological order of students who have completed course registration and paid the deposit first.
Q2: How soon should I pay the deposit after registering for the Summer semester?
A2: It is highly recommended to pay immediately. Admission quotas prioritize students based on the "first to register and first to pay" principle.
Q3: When will the enrollment result be announced?
A3: The 2026 Summer semester enrollment result will be announced at 14:00 on June 19th.

Fall Semester

Q1: After registering for the Chinese Course, when do I need to pay the deposit?
A1: The deposit should be paid before the deadline specified in the announced registration schedule.
Q2: What kind of proof documents do I need to provide if I select "no pre-test" on the registration form?
A2: You can provide a "Certificate of Completion" for a Chinese course from the current year, or a PDF copy of your email showing your post-test scores, or a PDF copy of your TOCFL certificate.
Q3: If I am required to take the pre-test but fail to do so, can I still register for courses?
A3: You will receive the course selection link and might be able to register for courses. However, the OIA will cancel your admission qualification after review and refund your deposit at the end of the semester. We strongly recommend completing the pre-test before course selection to accurately evaluate if the course suits your proficiency level.
