NCHU Dengue Fever/ Chikungunya Fever Epidemic Prevention Notice (Sept. 18, 2023)
- Given the recent confirmed cases of local dengue fever in the nearby Dali District, we should be cautious as the potential risk level for dengue fever transmission may be increased.
- The domestic epidemic situation shows no signs of abating, and there has been an increase in the number of infected individuals cross-pathing our campus. To prevent the spread of the virus, the chances of joint inspections by central and health authorities on campus have also increased
- Our campus is a cohesive environment, with no specific units or spaces inherently at higher risk. It is essential to implement comprehensive epidemic prevention measures across all campus areas.
- All units must fully cooperate in eliminating breeding sources. Not only does this reduce the risk of transmission, but it also ensures the protection of the community and, in turn, oneself. Additionally, it helps avoid potential fines from health authorities, as per the Infectious Disease Control Act, with penalties up to 15,000 NT dollars.
- The supervisor of each unit should take on the responsibility of ensuring the removal of mosquito breeding sources in their respective spaces. Let us work together to protect the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students.
- The university's homepage for epidemic prevention has been renamed to “Epidemic Prevention Area,” and a new “Dengue Fever Prevention Area” has been added. Relevant information will be posted on the website, where faculty and students can access it online.
