Campus Resources for Learning Chinese
NCHU Chinese Language Center was officially recognized by the Ministry of Education. It is listed as an authorized institution for issuing various visas by overseas offices and the Central Taiwan Office of the National Immigration Agency. The primary goal of our Chinese classes is to provide high-quality Chinese and cultural learning environments for foreigners, in line with the Ministry of Education's policy of academic internationalization.
Features
The Chinese classes are conducted in small groups, with experienced teachers who are all certified by the Ministry of Education for Mandarin teaching. They are skilled in guiding students to appreciate the beauty of Chinese and its culture in an engaging and accessible manner.
Course Introduction
We offer various courses tailored to different needs:
Target Audience: Degree-seeking students and exchange students
- Practical Chinese language credit courses: This credit course aims to enhance learners' comprehensive language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Conversation Chinese: This course focuses on improving international students' oral expression in Chinese through simulated everyday scenarios, allowing them to develop deeper conversational skills.
- Workplace Chinese: This course is designed to strengthen international students' Chinese abilities for employment in Taiwan, helping them master essential skills for interviews, communication, and negotiation.
- TOCFL Preparation Course: This course offers two different levels each season to help students enhance their language skills, increasing their competitiveness for employment in Taiwan.
- Chinese Courses (NUST/Online): This course provides two different levels each season, offering students an online platform to learn Chinese while helping them improve their language skills and competitiveness for employment in Taiwan.
Target Audience: Non-NCHU Students
6. Chinese Intensive Courses: This course aims to develop students' fluent Chinese expression through solid training.
*Scholarship: Students who enroll in it and are accepted into an NCHU degree program can apply for the NCHU Excellence in Chinese Language Scholarship for International Students (Link).

TOCFL Result
The following diagram shows the grading method of the Chinese reading test and its correspondence with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages (ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines), and the Taiwan Benchmarks for the Chinese Language (TBCL).
