Understanding Labor Standards & Workplace Rights in Taiwan
Whether you are an international student preparing to work, intern, or begin your career in Taiwan, or a university staff member interested in common workplace and student employment issues, a basic understanding of labor regulations can be useful in many everyday situations.
The Office of International Affairs will hold two labor law workshops on October 20: an English session for international students in the morning and a Chinese session for faculty and staff in the afternoon. The workshops will cover employment contracts, working hours, wages, overtime, leave, insurance, occupational injuries, and common labor disputes through practical examples and workplace situations.
Working in Taiwan with Confidence
Planning to work, intern, or start your career in Taiwan? Before entering the workplace, it is important to understand not only work permit requirements, but also employment contracts, wages, overtime pay, leave, insurance, and resignation procedures.
Conducted in English, this workshop will introduce key employment regulations for international students and help participants understand their basic workplace rights and responsibilities. Practical cases will be used to explain common issues involving contracts, working hours, wages, overtime, insurance, and labor disputes.
Practical Introduction to Taiwan's Labor Standards Act and Workplace Rights
Labor regulations are closely connected to everyday workplace practices. Employment contracts, working hours, wages, overtime, leave, insurance, occupational injuries, and labor disputes are all common topics worth understanding.
This Chinese-language session will provide a practical introduction to Taiwan's Labor Standards Act and related employment regulations through common workplace cases. It will also touch on employment issues students may encounter in off-campus part-time jobs, internships, and employment, providing useful background for student advising and support.
