Chiang Mai University is one of the premier higher education institutions in northern Thailand and consistently ranks among Thailand's top three comprehensive universities, enjoying international renown in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and life sciences. Since establishing a partner relationship in 1999, National Chung Hsing University and Chiang Mai University have maintained close academic ties for 26 years through faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, and joint academic projects. In particular, National Chung Hsing University regularly sends students to Chiang Mai University for internships in veterinary medicine and animal science, fostering the exchange of professional expertise and cross-cultural learning. Chiang Mai University has also visited National Chung Hsing University on several occasions, actively promoting bilateral cooperation.

During the celebrations, President Dr. Fuh-Jyh Jan led the delegation to a presidential forum together with higher education leaders from around the world. He discussed key topics such as “Bridging Knowledge and Action for the SDGs,” “Future Skills and Lifelong Learning,” and “Educational Transformation in the Digital Age.” In addition, both universities took this opportunity to explore the potential for a dual-degree collaboration between the Department of Entomology and the Department of Veterinary Medicine, aiming to further expand international exchange opportunities for their faculty and students and to strengthen their global academic influence.

Maejo University is one of National Chung Hsing University’s most active Thai partner university, with which it has long engaged in student exchange programs, faculty visits, and research collaborations. The signing of the Letter of intent for the Joint Degree Programs is intended to deepen collaboration in the agricultural sciences—especially through dual-degree programs that are expected to provide both universities’ students with richer international learning resources and practical experiences, thereby laying the groundwork for future academic and industry partnerships.

Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, a well-known comprehensive university in Thailand, has been collaborating with National Chung Hsing University since 2019, focusing on the application of green technology and renewable energy in agricultural communities. During this visit, President Dr. Jan participated in the renewal ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding with Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, expressing hopes for even deeper collaboration in agricultural technology innovation, sustainable development, and international student exchanges in the future.

National Chung Hsing University continues to actively promote internationalization and is committed to building closer ties with its Thai partner universities. This visit not only strengthens the links with its Thai partners—opening up more possibilities for future collaboration—but also marks an important step toward enhancing the university’s academic influence and international reputation.
